subaru graphics : Who has been saying that NFL2K1 looks better than Madden, in ANY mode?I finally got to do a head to head comparison of both games, and I amcurious where anyone would think that NFL2K1 looked better, fromgraphics to player animation (Madden's players look like they move morenaturally). It doesn't in my opinion. Now, I am not going to get into gameplay, just what the games look likenow. NFL2K1 is a great football game (I have it), but just curious whyanyone, but a fanboy, would think it looked better than Madden. Now,it isn't "I must run out and get a PS2 to play it" looks better, but itlooks better.Visit DocReason's Strategy HQ for free games, reviews, andsupport and opponent finding for obscure/orphan games at:Does Madden look better than NFL2K1 using the VGA Box? I think not.I played Madden at local bestbuy, it looks better, crispier graphics, and features (like Player eyes moving, close ups, rain splashes, etc)Overall I think they're both pretty similar games, but online playroster updates makes NFL2K1 a better game.

subaru graphics : NFL2K1 on a VGA monitor looks better than Madden on a NTSC TV.No it doesn't. It comes close of course but a game that visually inferior isn'tgoing to surpass Madden. Sorry. Still, it's funny that the only way a DC gamecan compete visually with a PS2 game is through a high-powered, expensivemonitor. Pretty pathetic there.Actually you're incapable of providing even a semi-decent argument because ofyour overwhelming stupidity."I pledge allegiance to the snow of the United snow of America. And to therepublic for which it snows, one nation, under snow, indi-snow-ible, withliberty and justice for snow." Man reading patriotic plaque immediatelyfollowing a snowstorm.Ok. I'm getting kind of annoyed by this anti-TV crusade of yours. Maybewhen we all have progressive-scan HDTVs, VGA output on a game console willmatter more than it does now.At this point, however, I'm under the impression that most people playvideo games in their family/living rooms, and that most computers arelocated elsewhere (den or bedroom). Obviously, there are exceptions. Kidswho have game systems hooked up to smaller TVs in their bedrooms and such. So, if my impressions are correct, there is no computer monitor handy inthe "videogaming area" necessitating either that the monitor be broughtover to said area, or that the gaming system be moved to the computermonitor.

subaru graphics : On top of this, add that the VGA cable is not a pack-in, but must bepurchased separately. I think you'll agree with me that VGA adoption bythe end-user is NOT going to happen en masse at this time, simply becauseit is not convenient for the end-user to adopt the technology.People who play on larger-screen TVs won't have space readily availablefor setting up a progressive-scan monitor, and the people who play inbedrooms where the monitor IS available would rather use the money towardsthe purchase of another game.I applaud Sega for pushing VGA support into so many of its titles, but Ithink it's wasted effort here in the U.S. because the market is not readyfor it.So to say that NFL2K1 (or Soul Calibur) has better graphics because itsupports a high-resolution mode that hardly anyone will use because youneed to spend extra money (if only to buy the VGA cable or converter box)to utilize is akin to saying Subaru's cars have superior traction becausetheir models include All Wheel Drive hardware that you have to pay extrafor.

subaru graphics : There's no point to saying it, and to repeat it ad nauseum makes you looklike some argumentative dolt. :)P.S. I own a Dreamcast and am considering buying a VGA cable (or box) sothat I can read the damn gauges on F355 Challenge, but then again, I'matypical. Who else do you know who has a mini-LAN (3 computers - 2 monitors) hooked up to a cable modem, and plays games on a 20" TV hebought for $300 when he got into college because it had S-video inputs, yet was portable enough to survive the multiple moves common to collegelife? That doesn't change the fact that TVs are incapable of *great* graphics.Good or fair possibly, but never great. All this above is meaningless dribble---TV can't do great graphics. Done. Nomatter how hard you try to rationalize, it's not going to change anything.Sorry, but that is provably incorrect. Take the picture quality of DVDplayback, for example. DVD picture quality is great, even on a regularTV. So yes, TVs are capable of great graphics. And comparing games on different output devices is meaningless drivel. No how hard you try to rationalize, it's not going to change anything.

subaru graphics : If you're using S-Video or component video, you are not watching NTSC.Based on the fact that VF2 for Saturn (hooked up to my TV via thecomposite video cables) managed to display crisp, clean graphics (if lowon polygon count) in spite of the blur introduced by interlacing, I'mgoing to have to disagree with you on this.Besides, with S-video connections on TVs allowing over 400 lines ofresolution with better color saturation than composite video, I'd arguesimply on principle that TVs ARE capable of displaying great graphicscomparable to that of a computer monitor. At least, my eyes tell me that the S-video picture output to my TV from myDVD player is not significantly worse than the same picture on mycomputer (20" TV vs. 17" monitor, if you must know). No, I think I gave a valid rationalization why VGA output isn't a validchoice for your average DC owner. If this is the best response you cancome up with to address my points, then I'm going to have to argue thatyou are the deluded one, not I.See, now what I wrote HERE is meaningless dribble. However, I DO have apoint to make:"I pledge allegiance to the snow of the United snow of America. And to therepublic for which it snows, one nation, under snow, indi-snow-ible, withliberty and justice for snow." Man reading patriotic plaque immediatelyfollowing a snowstorm.
