infiniti g35 coupe : "There is no comparison the G35 beatsthe HELL out of the 350."-------------------------In what area? Here are some stats from Motor Trend January 2003page 64 titled "Performance Data"Nissan 350Z0-60mph 5.72 almost a full second less!1/4 w/ top speed 14.02 @ 101.89 over half a second faster! Smoked it!Nothing in it's class even came close, it took the Big V8's that cost 20k ormoreor so to beat it. That is stock too!So how does the G35 " beat the HELL out of the 350", *YOUR WORDS.*--I agree with Max. The G35 is about 200 lbs heavier than the Z and with 7 ponies less and 4 lb-ft of torque less than the Z. With those differences in spec, the Power-to-weight ratio is obviously in favor of the Z.Each car has its own distinct purpose. The Z is more performance oriented, while the G35 Coupe is more for comfort cruising but with almost the same performance as the Z. Depending on the individual's needs and preferences, I think each is still a good value for the money. Nissan has done a commendable job at bringing back these new sport machines to the market. Personally, I will be purchasing the G35 Coupe with Leather & 6 Speed Manual, just because of practicality reasons (extra backseats and increased luggage space).
infiniti g35 coupe : Since the G35 Coupe just came out this month, has any lucky soul out there bought one yet? If so, can you provide us with some feedback? I also heard there may be a waiting list for the G35 Coupe. Is that so?I love both cars, as an owner of a 1993 300zx 2+2 I'm accustomed to a plushfeature rich interior like the G35 with the power of the 350ZX. So I'm verydisappointed that the 350ZX relies mostly on weight savings to achieve theacceleration numbers. This is why the option list is very limited for the350Z. Correct me if I'm wrong but the list I saw said leather seats andheated mirrors was only available on the Touring edition. If this is thecase I would have to give up some comfort to buy the 350Z, because one wouldwant the fastest Z possible hence no options. My 2cents for 32,000 dollars I would buy a 300ZX TT used, with 10 g's inspeed parts and not look back. Except to see a ZO6 vette in the rear view.I hit the 1000 mile mark on my G35 yesterday. The deciding factor ofgetting the G35 over the Z was simply the fact I could not find a Zwithout a dealer markup so the G35 ended up being a much cheaper car. After driving it around town for a month I think I made the rightdecision. It's super-smooth just getting from point A to point Z andnever hesitates when I ask it to act like a sports car. Plenty of roominside to make for comfortable long trips and just enough luxury toremind you that you're driving a car made to compete with the Germans.I don't think the cockpit is as sophisticated or as nice as theGermans but I wasn't really after a luxury car. infiniti g35 coupe : I did have a chance to drive side by side with a new Z owner but hewould not step on the gas so I can't compare. I've also never driven aZ. For now I have to watch the rags when comparing performance and thecars seem close enough for getting to work and back everyday. If youreally want to race one of these get the Z. It is a little bit smallerand will probably handle a bit better. Plus you can get them now withthe 6 speed. The automanual 5 speed is nice but without a clutch, it'sreally kind of worthless. I didn't get the 18" wheels and I still havemixed feelings about it. It would be nice to have but most of thedriving I do it does not matter. It would be nice if the VDC stuff onthe car was a bit more forgiving. It cuts power way to quickly notallowing you to slide the backend even a little. I wonder if the Z hasthe same setup?I've test-driven a G35 Coupe recently and liked everything about it, exceptthe automatic transmission which spoils the whole impression. It feels, well, like any other car with automatic. In our locale (British Columbia)all 2002 350's are presumably sold out, whereas the G35 should still beavailable. Unfortunately, the M6 version of G35 is $2000 more than the'basic'. But at least it has the park brake in the right place, and not likeon a Chevy van...Regards,Eugene."Ryan S. After owning a Honda Civic for 11 yrs, this car is definitely a serious upgrade. Just sitting in the driver seat and not moving, this car makes you feel like a King. Plush interior and excellent leather sport seats. Excellent support, even in the backseats. This is what you call looking fast and getting there in style...........ahhh the good things in life.Even though I didn't get the opportunity to test drive the manual version, I decided to place my order for the M6 version (1st choice is Brilliant Silver with Black Leather Interior, and 2nd choice is Capri Blue with Black Leather Interior). Besides, overseas in Japan, they call this the Nissan Skyline, which is already a legend in its own time. The funny thing is that Japan is actually set to release this new model of the Skyline in Jan 2003 (info collected from the Nissan Official Website in Japan). That is 2 months after the North American release date. Wow, we lucky souls even get to buy the car before the home market does. It's the first time I've heard of such a thing! infiniti g35 coupe : The People on EBAY are sure screwing up...
