acura tsx : That's what the owner of our local Honda dealer told me -- limitedproduction/availability like the S-2000. I would say that 5k over list ormore is a likelyhood. An alternative may be the new Acura TSX with a 190plus 2.4 I-4 with a 6 speed, which sounds a little like the old EuropeanAccord R sedan with the Prelude engine. I'll hold onto my 01 Prelude whichI paid $20,600 last year when dealers wanted them off the lots.I am looking for a new car and the Accord Coupe V6 6Sp is pretty high on mylist. But if they make it limited production, I am going to cross it off.The Acura TSX is currently among the top candidates. I am not going to pay$30K for an Accord. For that much I'd rather have an entry level 3-series.I suppose Honda made a market decision. Only around 10% (at least the dataI've seen) of the cars today sold have a manual. Most folks will buy theAccord V6 with the automatic with only a few diehards (like myself) wantingthe 6 speed. There isn't any doubt that the Accord V6 Coupe 6sp will not be as big aseller as other variants. However, I don't see that as an excuse toartificially limit the production of this vehicle to one per dealer. If youcan sell more, which I am sure they can, why not make more? This isdifferent from the S2000 where its initial hard-to-find nature contributedto the car's high end image. There is no such image associated with theAccord.

acura tsx : i don't think the TSX is going to be that much. it's supposed to be a replacement for the 4-door Integra. last time i remember, the old Integra 4-doors weren't more than $25K for the GSR.besides, an entry level BMW 3-series is hardly worth the money. do you really want to spend $33K+ for a car that is semi-reliable and is easily smoked by a $24K Nissan Altima? that was the reason why i decided not to get a BMW 325 or a Lexus IS300. for that much money, i would rather get more than just a fancy nameplate and free espresso in the dealer service waiting room. :-Pi wouldn't mind getting a used IS300, but the 5-spd models are only a year old and used prices are still high. so far the TSX is at the top of my list. the Mazda 6 is also on my list. and the Mitsu Lancer EVO was recently added. i'm just waiting for the LA Auto Show to find out the official release dates and prices for the TSX and EVO."slackerbot" wrote in message...The altima will not outrun the v6 honda 2003 coupe. been there and done it.My 2002 si civic will leave any altima at the stop light, up to a certainspeed, but who cares I got the jump by two or three car lengths and then cutback.

acura tsx : i found these pix from another discussion board. these are scans of the USDM Acura TSX brochure or press kit. it looks exactly like the JDM Accord except: it's LHD of course, and Acura branding instead of Honda.** 200 HP DOHC i-VTEC 4-cyl engine** 6-spd manual or 5-spd sportshift auto** double-wishbone suspension, front and rear** HID headlights** LED turn signals on side mirrors** nice size alloy rims** optional navigation system** possible smoked headlight assembly** brochure says it's coming in April** sport seating. i know it's not going to be the Recaro seats. but i hope it's at least suede leather instead of that cheap perforated leather in the RSX. it does mention perforated trim. so who knows.** sport pedals. the JDM Accord has the sporty pedals, but the i'm not so sure about the TSX. probably not.** color choices. no mention of exterior or interior color choices. i really hope they offer the JDM colors. chamionship white, instead of pearl white. bloody red, instead of burgandy. the blue is nice too.

acura tsx : anyhow, i'm going to the LA Auto Show this sunday. i hope they have one out in the floor, instead of on a turntable or platform. i'm bringing my digicam. :-)Looks like an outstanding alternative to the limited production Accord CoupeV6 manual."slackerbot" wrote in message...don't forget the 360 watt 8 speaker sound system and rumors of keyless-go :OThat's exactly what I am thinking as well. Sure this car will give up somestink in the acceleration department to the V6 Accord 6sp, but it is in aform factor (4-door) that I like, will most lightly handle better, offerbetter balance due to lower weight in the front, and looks a heck of a lotbetter. And since the 6sp Accord is said to be limited production, the TSX will beeasier to find. One remaining question is if there will be a Type-S coming out in the nextyear or two. This is on the minds of a lot of potential TSX buyers. IfAcura does not plan to come put with a Type-S, they need to say it now, orelse a lot of people will be waiting for one, including me.i don't think we'll be getting a Type-S. because it already is a Type-S without the emblem. in japan, there are only two trims; the Accord and the Accord Euro-R. the TSX is just a re-badged Euro-R. it would be unconventional for Honda to release a sister car in the states that is more powerful than the japanese version. it would be like offering an Integra Type-R here but not in japan.

acura tsx : but then again, i could be wrong. i still think it's a little weird for Honda to offer only one trim for this vehicle. and with only one option. (NAV). i was going to assume that they were going to offer two trims like the RSX; a base model with 160 HP and a Type-S model with 200 HP. oh well. here are a few random pics from the auto show.am i the only one who isn't impressed by the introduction of this car?i kinda don't see a point to it other than to add another car to Acura'sline.why not just add 4-doors to the RSX and pump up the numbers.i suppose they took the welfare way out and just used a 4-doorthey already had...instead of making something new.the only other problem i have is this is supposed to compete with theIS300, 3-series, and A4...the lex is the only one in the same class.they're doing the nissan/infinity thing...shoulda left it a Honda! It's cheaper to just import an existing car than the adapt an existing 2door design into 4 doors.
