acura nsx : They were giving out NSX books (the one you buy at any Acura dealer for $10),NSX caps, small posters of the NSX-T, vacation guides (?) and a nice NSXscreen saver for Windows and Mac. The screen saver has sound sampled froman NSX and it sounds pretty sweet! At the garage I saw rows and rows of NSXs. The valet said that there were40+ NSXs that day. A pretty cool sight!I have known the production plans for the Targa top version from UK car mags several months back. The problem is not the added weight, but the concept and image of having a clean flat sports car type (like Lambo) with open top. Has anyone heard of "Seria" which is a 2-seater, small coupe with gull wings, and polycarbonate transparent top? Which manufacturer did this?To join the NSX mailing list, mail with the body "subscribe nsx".Yes, for months all the car mags have been mentioning the NSX targa. Mostalso speculated a slight performance increase, but this did not happen.
acura nsx : Two other minor improvements for the NSX-T are (quote from poster):"It uses an innovative, new, electronic drive-by-wire throttle, for evenmore precise engine control.""And it is available with the optional SportShift automatic transmission, which lets the driver change gears with the touch of an innovative selectormounted within a finger's reach of the leather-covered steering wheel."No word on price yet, but it's arriving in March. Don't know aboutthe Prelude. It's the Toyota Sera. A cute little coupe with gulling doors.Saw one on the dealer lot here in Japan... cute, and the doors lift highenough to make tight parking not a problem. It just looked a little toofuturistic (to me) to be more than a conversation piece. Too small, underpowered, cutesy to be a real sports car that just happened to havegull-wing doors. From: ()Subject: Re: 1995 Acura NSX-T Newsgroups: Date: 1995-01-12 08:52:19 PST In article (Bryan Chow) wrote:A Porsche '95 911 Carrera 4 is a much better choice then the NSX.==================================== =====================================From: ()Subject: Re: 1995 Acura NSX-T Newsgroups: Date: 1995-01-08 19:02:06 PST (Ray M.) writes: Not posting and letting people think that you're not here just to post irrelevant commments is a much better choice than forgetting to add 'IMO' when you post your opinion. acura nsx : You forgot to put "IMHO". Have you driven either cars?It depends on what you're looking for. I'm not saying that an NSXis always a better choice than a Carrera 4, but each car has itsstrengths. I've never driven a Carrera 4, but I do have an NSX sosome reasons one might choose that over a 911 are:1) Easier to handle The 911 has 66% of its weight in the rear, which makes for tricky handling even with 4WD. It takes a better driver to get maximum performance from a 911 than from an NSX, so for an average driver (like me) the NSX is a safer choice.2) The NSX is more luxurious, more comfortable, and has better ergonomics.5) The NSX sounds WAY better. Personally I hate the way Porsche's air-cooled engines sound. They sound like a Volkswagen Beetle. Again, this is IMHO.Before I get any flames - I'm NOT saying the NSX is always better thanthe Carrera (unlike the original poster who said the Carrera 4 is a muchbetter choice, implying ALWAYS).If you can handle the 911, care very much for the prestige of owning aPorsche, or want a sportscar that feels more "raw", by all means checkout the new Carrera. They're the best Carreras ever, and that's sayingalot. acura nsx : In article (Ryan Rahim) writes: I don't think that's a very good idea. Instead they should keep theAcura nameplate, but sell more upper end cars. For example, stop selling the Integra, and sell cars with V12s, V8s,V6s. Sell them in somewhat limited quantities. Aim them at Mercedes, Jaguar, and such. Oh yes, one more thing don't share platforms. Ooops one more thingsell them as Acuras across the world. Not Hondas in some and Acura in others. Creating a whole new nameplate would cost lots of money, and it would taketime to get itself established in the market. Using Acura and movingeven more upmarket would be easier. Of course it all takes time.Besides, people should buy cars for what they're abilites are not theirprestige. I guess that's one of the ways you find out if the person you'retalking to is a driver or passenger. It isn't. It's just in the states. Lexus LS400 = Toyota Celsior.Infiniti Q45 is a variation of the Nissan Cima. The next gen one isgoing to be even closer related to the Cima. Infiniti I30 is theNissan Cefiro, I think. Infiniti J30 is the Nissan Leopard J. Ferie. Acura NSX = Honda NSX. Acura 3.5RL = Honda Legend. ----Rod Automotive Statistics InternetRod's Family of Home pages: Planet Automotive * Computer Link Directory * EntertainLink--------------------------- ---------------------------------------- --1994 Toyota Supra Turbo * 1996 Honda Accord LX acura nsx : I guess this is why these makes are not as popular elsewhere as in the US (or are they?) Speaking of funny Nissan names, how about Nissan 300ZX = Nissan Fairlady Z. This one had me laughing for a week. So what you're saying is that Americans are a bunch of suckers hung up onimplied affluence? I agree. Schwazoo! Acura, Infiniti, crap. Dammit. Makes me want to puke. If this is the case, that these three automakershave "special" versions of the same car for the materialistic idiots inthis country, well, that says a lot about us. Half of these cars I have never heard of:Toyota CelsiorNissan CimaNissan CefiroNissan LeopardAre these just the names of the cars they call them in Japan? IfNissan/Toyota want to tailor the names to fit the market, how is thatconsidered bad? BMW does it with engine specs.Honda and Acura are the same company - makes no difference, in fact, I believethe Legend was the Honda Acura Legend before everyone just started calling itthe legend which prompted the name change because people noticed the car forwhat it was and ignored the company that built it.
